Historical Era Biographies
Mercer County has a very, very long tradition of success in track and field.
Perhaps no one knows that tradition better Robert Marchetti, the chief historian at the Mercer County Track & Field Hall of Fame. Coach Marchetti has read thousands of newspaper articles on microfiche and online archives dating back to the 1880s. He’s even written short biographies — complete with pictures — on 25 of the most successful athletes who competed in Mercer County before 1960.
